All finishes are water-based, low-VOC made by Sherwin Williams and other American manufacturers. Wood raw materials come from environmentally responsible suppliers. MDF used is manufactured by Plum Creek, and is certified green, CARB-compliant, and low-formaldehyde. All packing insulation is 100% post-consumer recycled. All shipping cartons are either 100% post-consumer recycled or are made of recycled cardboard.

This purchase is a gift for my granddaughter. It is perfect, i especially love the how well it is constructed. It was easy to stain and looks very nice in her playroom.

The toy chest came well packaged, and was undamaged. Assembly was straight forward and the directions were clear and easy to understand. I,m using the LittleColorado toy chest as a fire wood storage box next to my fireplace hearth. In honey oak, it blends nicely with the wood floors and is solid enough to withstand dumping a bundle (seven pieces)of split oak at a time. Size is great too, it will hold about sixteen pieces.

Very sturdy. I ordered the unfinished so that I can decide what kind of "art work" I want to do to it. The one problem that I can't overcome is the installation of safety latch. I will need help with that. I am using it as an entryway storage bench, as most benches are too deep for my space.

I orderd a toy chest for my order grandchild a couple years ago. It came assembled and was much larger for the same price. This chest had 3 holes down both sides of the 2 sides to attach the front and back. There should have been 6 screws, but only 4 were there. I was very disappointed.
