Rubberwood is often the most misunderstood species of wood in the furniture industry. The name itself invokes a variety of misconceptions to its features and its durability. Also known as "white teak" or Para wood in Thailand, is the common name for the timber of Hevea brasiliensis. It is also often referred to as Malaysian Oak because of its strength. Historically, the felled timber was used as firewood to fuel brick-making and tobacco-curing. Dramatic changes in world economy plus the occurrence of natural disasters in some parts of the world necessitated the need for alternative timbers.

The table and chairs are sturdy, easy to assemble, and my grandsons will get years of use from them. The packaging seemed to be sufficient but there was a small ding on the table's edge that made it less than perfect, something that happened during transport no doubt. But knowing that two little boys will be using it and there will be further dings, it wasn't worth returning it.

I thought the picture that was shown was SO CUTE! Unfortunately, in person I personally didn't think it was nearly as cute. There is a horse in the middle of the table that I thought was ugly and didn't seem to flow with the other animals.
Also, when the table came it had a few dings, some scratches, and the leg started to crack when I was screwing it in (and it never would tighten appropriately.
As for putting it together - that was fairly easy except for the mistake in the direction that incorrectly identified one of the screws which was frustrating.
It isn't a horrible table by any means and I am sure many people would be very happy with it. I just wasn't.
