I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old. My kids love this table! At first I thought it was a little big for them, however, I like the fact that there is room for growth and they will probably use it until they are atleast 6-7 years old, maybe more. We have it set up in the kitchen area. We mostly use it for breakfast, snack time, playing, reading, playdough, and family projects. It cleans up easily. My three year old keeps himself busy while I prepare dinner. The chairs are strong enough for me "Mommy 130lbs" to sit on too. The size is just right, compact, yet big enough for what you need. We've had it for 8 months now, and it serves as the "go to place" for my three year old. It's the perfect height for him to do just about anything he needs to. The chairs are strong and durable, although I do not allow them to stand on the chairs (we have a s stool for that). We choose the pecan color and it matchs our kitchen cabinets nicely. It's a simple modern design without the cartoon characeters to make it look cheap. This table is a winner! you will love it. My only bit of advice is not to use a drill to screw the pieces together. It's a bit tricky lining up the holes for the table legs and we nearly stripped away the grip of one of the screws by using a drill. No harm done, but be warned - use a mannual screw driver or the allen wrench provided. Other than that, the instructions are simple enough and it took about 45 minutes to put together. This set is worth every penny. We use it, We love it, it looks good, it;s practical, it's durable. (And we get compliments on it all the time.) It's perfect for us.

After searching for the perfect table for my sons, I thought this set would fit the bill. Other tables were either too big for the space I had or was going to be too small for my children. So, I eagerly ordered this set [...] My husband assembled the two chairs rather easily even though one of them was a bit "wobbly" after multiple tightenings. Then came the table. The holes for the screws aren't lined up at all and it took several curses and attempts to get the screw forced in to make it work. I wanted it to work so badly b/c the set is very attractive and exactly the right size and stain that I needed. Unfortunately, I wouldn't suggest ordering this set unless you are willing to ship it back and hope they send you a new set that actually is manufactured correctly.

I decided to order this table despite the mixed reviews. I was concerned about the reviews stating that assembly was difficult due to holes not lining up etc. I have had this problem with furniture in the past and it is very frustrating. However, I am happy to say that this table was extremely easy to assemble and we had no problems at all. I ordered the walnut color and it is beautiful and looks to be very high quality. It is tall enough that my six year old will be able to enjoy this table for several years. When my mother saw the table she could not believe it when I told her how much I paid for it. She commented that it looks like a Pottery Barn table. I agree. I am very happy with this purchase!

I searched high and low for a children's table and was so excited to find this set. It's attractive and seemed to have a lot of positive reviews. Unfortunately, we must have gotten one of the bad sets. One of the legs is loose, while the other one is not level (because the holes for the screws are grossly misaligned), making the whole table wobbly. There are also lots of scratches on the legs and on the chairs. I'm waiting to hear back from customer service on how I can return this item, but I am concerned about the cost of return shipping fees. This was my first purchase from hayneedle, and probably my last. This table was definitely not worth the price.

Great product quality wood and finish. Would have given a 5 Star Rating, but the fasteners included to install the table legs were not the same quality. It was very difficult to get the Phillp Head screws provided installed (very tight fit) and by the time they were almost in the heads were stripped. They should have provided the same type screw used on the chairs. These screwc had a slot that used an Allen Wrench. which allowed much more torque without stripping.

Love the table but diappointed in how the legs attach. With the included bolts tightened, the legs are still very unstable.
