It's constructed from strong and durable rubberwood and painted in white with lead-free, non-toxic paint. Recommended age is 15 months and older, not to exceed a weight capacity of 50 pounds. A regular crib mattress can be used with this charming bed (mattress not included).
The beauty and benefits of rubberwood: Hailing from the maple family of trees, and originally native to Thailand, the rubber tree is used in the manufacture of high-end furniture. It is valued for its dense grain, minimal shrinkage, attractive color and acceptance of different finishes. We love this bed! It shipped relatively quick, it was fairly simple to put together. It looks so sweet in my daughters room and its sturdy enough for my 2 year old and her friend to jump on it! I also love that there is enough room for either myself or my husband to lay with our daughter. It's a great purchase, one that I will pass on to our next child.

My son was/is very excited to be in a "big boy bed" and he is very happy with it. It is easy to get in and out of as it is close to the ground and also less danger for a fall. Surface seems durable and easy to wipe off. The bed with our 'heavy' organic cotton mattress makes it seem sturdy, with a lighter type mattress I would wonder if the bed would seem flimsy. It was easy to assemble and it looks good for the price. As my son is light and he will probably be in it for two years max, it is a very decent choice.

Recieved item 2 days after I ordered!! This bed is perfect for my daughter. Easy to put together. Took me an hour and a half. Maybe less. My daughter jumps on this bed, my older son even jumps on it and its so sturdy. I lay on it with my daughter and I don't worry about it breaking. Love this bed! Not to mention is so cute!!

This bed is the perfect size for a toddler. My daughter is almost 2 and she loves this bed. She slept fine in the crib but did not like going in it. She gets excited to go to sleep in her big girl bed and there is no longer the bedtime battle.
Set up was pretty easy and easy to match other furniture since it's white.
